George Frankham of Lambeth & Tottenham

George Frankham was Jane Frankham's older brother. He married Sarah Ann Willinger 17th October 1842 at St Marys Parish Church Lambeth. Like his father John Frankham he was a Stone Mason by trade and was living at this time in New Cut Lambeth.

Above is an edited section of the 1861 census for 9 Mead Row Lambeth. This shows George and his wife Sarah together with George's widowed Mother Martha Frankham who was now 60. The census shows that she was born in Clutton Somerset. Her son George was born in Weston near Bath Somerset, and his wife Sarah from Bloombury London.

Ten years later the 1871 census (below) lists just George and Sarah Frankham. George's mother Martha Frankham died in 1870 in Lambeth aged 72. The family then moved to number 4 Willoughby Park Road Tottenham also living with them was their adopted daughter Annie. George's trade was a statuary mason and builder. We believe he was working with his sister Jane's husband William Harris as they moved from Lambeth to Tottenham around this time.
